Misconceptions of First Time Hair-Dyers

Hi there! I dyed my hair for the very first time (and most certainly not the last) in December and there were some things that were definitely a bit unexpected. Actually, they might've been expected, but the excitement and anticipation building up to really remember and be rational about such things.

I thought I'd put together a little list of fantasies that I had pre-dye that didn't become a reality post-dye. Enjoy!

Current Love: Intricate Braids and Oversized Beanies

Hi there! A combination that I've been very intrigued by lately is the whole braid and beanie thing. While the friend who I saw wearing said beanie had her long black hair flowing, it made me think back to some styles that I've seen before when the hair was in a braid of some sort with a cozy beanie to balance out the look.

Especially since it's winter, this combo would be awesome to bring a bit of life to your everyday style. Keep reading for more inspiration!

Current Love: Colourful Ombré Hair

Hi there! Something that I've been wanting to do with my hair for a while now is dyeing it. I remember that when I was younger, I told my mom that I'd never, ever want to dye my hair for a reason unknown to my future self. It's funny how that completely changed in eighth grade when I got this burning itch to add some colour to my black mane.

Not that there's anything wrong with black hair, of course. 

I think it was one of my friends who introduced me to the whole dip dye thing back then and I really, really liked it. I never thought I'd be that girl with some crazy bold colour running through her hair, but I guess I will/might be. That love for the whole dip dye thing eventually transformed into a desire for ombré hair, which I find looks a bit more sophisticated.

Would You Ever: Get a Bob?

Hi there! Ever since the weather started warming up a couple months ago, I noticed that a lot of the girls at my school just started chopping off their hair, a trend that was mirrored on my blog and Instagram feed. It seemed as if everyone was getting rid of their long, luscious locks and going for a fresher and short 'do. Heck, I two of my friends even went for the chop.

While I think hair trends are unconventional and inconvenient to follow, I did consider and am admittedly still considering chopping off some hair, too. There's just something about that tousled bob of messy waves that's so intriguing and that makes me really want to have that hair, preferably on a day or two lease as opposed to long-term.
