DIY: Gold Polka Dot Walls

Hi there! For the longest time, I had little flower stencils on my wall that just screamed little girl's room which is pretty typical considering that I was six when my parents and I painted my bedroom walls. Now, as a 15 year old, I obviously grew out of those and wanted something a bit different and more grown up, and again, for the longest time, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with my walls to cover them up.

Then, one day, I think I was looking at the Kate Spade stationery when I got the idea to cover the flowers up with gold polka dots. Thankfully, the DIY worked out and now every time I look at my bedroom walls, it looks like Kate Spade which makes me really happy, so I thought I'd share with you how to do this to your own walls!

DIY: Carpe Diem Desk Chair

Hi there! A little while ago, I shared with you my new and improved workspace, featuring this snazzy desk chair that I'm really, really proud of. It was originally just a plain black chair with nothing really special, so I spiced it up a bit to make it look a bit better in my room.

It's funny because I'm so happy with this chair and it's probably one of my favourite things right now, but everyone else in my family absolutely hated it and they were actually kind of mad that I'd done something to the chair, aha. Anyway, now let's get into the DIY!

Bedroom Makeover: Workspace Unveiling

Hi there! First off, I just wanted to say oh. my. god. I just reached 50 followers on Bloglovin which made me really, really happy, so a huge thank you to all of you follow me on that platform! It's such a big milestone for me and I would go on about how excited I am, but that's not that you came to read, aha.

Anyway, after working on it all week or maybe even longer, I don't quite remember to be honest, I finished making over my workspace! I'm so happy with how it turned out with all the gold details and the colour that is somewhat coordinated. It's a pretty big step up (in my eyes, at least) from my old desk and I can't wait to start spending more time here.

In short, I'm just really, really excited about this. Since there's not much left to say, let's hop into all the lovely new changes I made.

Five Summer Projects to Try

Hi there! Summer is just around the corner and I know that for some of you, summer has already started (lucky ducks). Summer is that time of the year, for students especially, where we just get to enjoy and take a break while still getting a head start on all the things going on in the fall.

I’m particularly excited about this summer as I’ve got lots and lots of plans for it to be essentially the best summer I’ve ever had. A part of those plans are a few projects I’ve been thinking about working on and they certainly aren’t only limited to my life, so I thought I’d share five of them with you guys. Maybe this will inspire you to go out there and do something this summer. I believe that while spontaneity is fun and all, having goals is also really important and helps ensure success.

This post was requested by a really good friend of mine, and I know that she's been waiting patiently for this for a bit now, so this post is dedicated to her. I'm super stoked about this list, so let's get into this!

Bedroom Makeover: Attack the Closet

Hi there! I have for you today the first super official post in the bedroom makeover series where I'm actually making something over, in this case, my closet. I'm so lucky to have a walk-in closet and I really stuff it to the brim. Below are a few photos of it before I cleaned it and reorganised it.

You can probably tell that it's very, very full. I hadn't separated my fall/winter and spring/summer clothes, so it was pretty much all the clothes that I owned that I would wear out (except for pants and other jackets) stuffed into one tiny closet.

I also had a bunch of stuff from my childhood and blankets and bags just thrown up on the top shelves and it was not organised in the least.

My clothes were also really crowded and as you can see, I couldn't even find some room to stuff them all in properly. Or maybe I was just too lazy. Oops.

There's also a stack of clothes underneath on the floor that just didn't have a home. Clearly, my canvas and mirror didn't have one either.

Now, it looks quite a bit better, don't you think?

It's not 100% done yet because there are still a handful of things (like the canvases) that I want to store elsewhere, but it's mostly finished and I'm so happy with how it looks. Everything is still pretty much where it was, just so much more organised.

Keep reading to see how my closet turned out!

Introduction to: Bedroom Makeover Series

Hi there! First of all... happy Valentine's Day! I hope that you're all going to spending the day with a loved one pigging out on chocolate and just having a blast. Now onto the post!

I been getting the itch to redecorate my room lately, especially after watching Elle Fowler’s videos and reading her posts all about it. I’ve wanted to do this since about two years ago, but never got around to it because of how expensive it is and how my parents weren’t cool with the idea, even if I was the one paying. Also, I just wanted to put it out there that I'm incredibly grateful for the room that I do have, but I'd like to make it my own a bit more by doing DIY projects and making small purchases as opposed to being a brat and asking my parents for a whole new room.

But after following Elle’s series, I realised that yes, she did buy a lot of things because she’s pretty well off, but she also made some small changes or has things laid out and organised in a smart and effective way that uses the space to her advantage. It inspired me so much that I figured that I’d start my own little series here as well because everyone’s journey will be different, so maybe I’ll be able to inspire one person out there to revamp their room a bit. Keep reading for a sneak peek of the huge project!

May Motivation: Reorganise Your Workspace!

Workspace Inspiration

The inspiration for this post came along when I was just looking around on Pinterest and was being completely unproductive - or so I thought - when I stumbled upon this...

At the time, my bedroom was a complete disaster, particularly my desk.  I was completely overwhelmed with a million school and personal projects that I developed this terrible mantra: It's going to get messy again after I do _______.  There's no point in attempting to clean my room.  It got so bad that it  was nearly impossible for me to find a clear path from the door to my bed.  It was pretty darn terrible.

After weeks (cringe-worthy, I know) of living in that mess, I finally found the motivation to clean up.  My personal motivation was simply from scrolling around on Pinterest and finding pretty pictures of organised spaces.  Here are a few of my favourite workspaces intertwined with some tips to (hopefully) inspire you to get yourself organised.  Enjoy!
