16 Quotes to Keep You Motivated This Year

Hi there! I thought I'd kick off the week with something to get you pumped and motivated for the next five days. I’ve grown into the habit of seizing every possible opportunity for a new beginning to make new goals and try to get myself motivated to change myself for the better. I find it’s not the hardest feat to start the school year with a desire to be better and be positive, but it’s hard to maintain it throughout the year. So many things can happen in the span of ten months from friend fallouts to stressful assignments that can make you feel like you want to give up and just slack until summer comes around again.

While giving yourself a break every once in a while to avoid such thoughts is a good idea, giving up and slacking off are not and words well said (aka quotes) can really help when it comes to picking yourself up. After spending quite some time on Pinterest and collecting quotes over the course of a couple of weeks, I’ve come up with a list of quotes that I think were specially designed to keep your levels of motivation up. These aren’t the kind of quotes that are all fluffy that give off a oh-it’ll-all-be-okay vibe (even though it will all be okay), they’re more of a tough love kind of collection of quotes that will make you want to get off your butt and do something.

Enjoy!

Summer To-Do: Taking More Photos and What to Do With Them

Hi there! I know that for most of you, you’re knee-deep in summer already, but I’ve been at summer school for the past two weeks, so it hasn’t really hit me that it’s summer yet. However, there’s been one thing that I’ve been doing recently that has made it feel more like the time of the year best known for a teenager’s acts of abandon - taking pictures.

For as long as I could remember, I was the girl who would flinch and cover her face whenever someone brought out a camera or took their phone out to take a selfie while simultaneously dragging me into the frame with them. I was the girl who didn’t really understand why her friends or family would waste time taking photos of food before eating it even if it wasn’t that special to begin with. I was the girl who had less than 200 photos on her phone instead of the 1000+ her friends had.

In short, I didn’t really take pictures unless I had a really stunning view of the sky or some exotic dish.

Five Summer Projects to Try

Hi there! Summer is just around the corner and I know that for some of you, summer has already started (lucky ducks). Summer is that time of the year, for students especially, where we just get to enjoy and take a break while still getting a head start on all the things going on in the fall.

I’m particularly excited about this summer as I’ve got lots and lots of plans for it to be essentially the best summer I’ve ever had. A part of those plans are a few projects I’ve been thinking about working on and they certainly aren’t only limited to my life, so I thought I’d share five of them with you guys. Maybe this will inspire you to go out there and do something this summer. I believe that while spontaneity is fun and all, having goals is also really important and helps ensure success.

This post was requested by a really good friend of mine, and I know that she's been waiting patiently for this for a bit now, so this post is dedicated to her. I'm super stoked about this list, so let's get into this!
