Hi there! This post was quite the stressful one to write, but here it is! The PLL fashion recaps are back! Well, next week's the last one because the show's going on hiatus for a few freaking long months, but hey, what can you do?
Joking complaints aside, this week's fashion had a bit of a country bumpkin vibe to it, but I'm going to show you some ways to make it a bit more wearable. Keep on reading if you're interested!
ARIA
In this photo, Aria is wearing one of my favourite outfits of the season. You can't see it all in this photo, but she's wearing a black dress with a really graphic lion on the front (that looks a lot like this H&M one but 100 times nicer) with a gold spike statement necklace. She was also wearing a printed blazer overtop (as you can see in the first photo) before she took it off in the photo above.
I feel like the majority of Aria's outfits aren't really school appropriate (let's be honest here), so I would rock something like this to a more special event, like a party or dinner.
EMILY
In this episode, Emily stayed comfortable in a simple graphic tee, some light wash skinny jeans, and some low-heeled booties. Since the colours in this outfit are pretty muted and kind of plain, the red leather varsity jacket is such an amazing touch to brighten up the outfit. If you think your outfit's looking dull, throw on a pop of colour. It'll surely brighten things up.
Emily's outfits will always remain the most school-appropriate in my eyes. She always looks super comfortable, yet pretty stylish. I personally have a different sense of style than her (if you've seen my outfit posts, you'll know what I mean), but she definitely inspires my wardrobe and is a gentle reminder to tone my outfits down if they're looking too crazy for school.
SPENCER & HANNA
Spencer wore a mint green polka dot dress that's absolutely perfect for those days when you have a class presentation or going out to dinner with your family. It's posh, put together, yet pretty modern, just like Spencer.
Hanna's rocked an outfit that I don't think I would ever be able to leave my house in (that might be because I'm 14, haha), but that's what makes a Hanna outfit. It's different, trendy, and crazy. She paired the dark blue and purple printed maxi with a light pink blazer, making the outfit look a bit less beachy and a bit more school appropriate. That being said, it's not THAT school appropriate. I think this outfit would be great for a day out in town with your girlfriends, or for a summer night out.
SPENCER
Now, on to the hoe down. To make this outfit a bit more wearable, pair a printed crop tee with some high-waisted denim, whether that be jeans or shorts. For a country vibe, throw on your cowboy boots, or any mid-calf boots that you might own that would look good. Stack on some wrap bracelets and you're good to go!
EMILY & ARIA
Emily and Aria's outfits are just so perfect for their character's styles. These girls are lucky to have such an amazing stylist like Mandi... I'm jealous. Actually, I'm more jealous of Mandi. Her job just seems so fantastic.
Anyway, to be honest, Emily's outfit is pretty wearable. Just ditch the boots and cowboy hat, slip on your white jean shorts and favourite flannel top, tie it in knot in front and you're good to go! Instead of the boots, try some sneakers!
For Aria's, well, let's just say she went all out. From the cowboy hat, the embroidered top, the ridiculously poofy skirt, to the boots Jake gave her, she really went country that night. For a more wearable option, try a white (or graphic) tee tucked into a black skater skirt and your favourite (cowboy?) boots. Tie your wavy hair into a ponytail like Aria's and you're all set!
What did you think of this week's episode? What about the fashion? Who's outfit did you like the best and who's outfit were you just not crazy for? Let me know in a comment down below and share your thoughts! I'd love to read them!
Thank you so very much for reading!
