It's the last week of my summer vacation and I'm headed back to school in just a few days. I'm pretty stoked, yet pretty frazzled as well about going into my first year of high school and not really knowing anyone. But whatever, let's get into the last Sunday Funday of this summer, even though it technically ends in like three weeks.
If you guys ever watch fashion videos on YouTube, you've probably seen or heard of clothesencounters, a fashion channel with the occasional sprinkle of beauty run by Jenn. Her style is just ridiculous. She thrifts a lot of her clothes and everything is just so unique. Her style's just out there and confident and I really admire that quality. She wears whatever she wants and doesn't give a crap about what others think about it.
She's such a joy to watch and definitely brightens my day whenever I watch her videos. I know this might sound kind of creepy, but her voice is incredibly soothing, as well. So if you ever have five minutes to spare, go check out some of her videos. They're pretty fantastic and I'm sure that you'll be able to find some outfit inspiration in there. I'm honestly so obsessed with her channel, it's amazing.
I finally found that perfect white t-shirt. SCORE.
I don't know about you guys, but I can count on my fingers the amount of times I've bought clothing items at full price. My parents have raised me to be a bargain shopper (not exactly sure if that's a good thing, but whatever, nothing I can do now) and pretty much always shop the sale section. You might be wondering how this has to do with a white t-shirt, so let me ask you this. Have you ever seen a plain white t-shirt on sale? It's a pretty rare thing, so I never got one.
That plain white t-shirt was what I've been missing all the years. I know it sounds all dramatic and stupid, but think of all the outfits you could create with a white t-shirt - the possibilities are endless. Anyway, with all the Labour Day sales going on right now, I got two of them, one for just everyday wear, and the other for a DIY. I don't really know how I'm going to DIY it yet, but let me know in a comment if you have any requests. :)
I have my baby back and life's better than ever.
That might've sounded kind of... sketchy/weird/whatever, but I've been going sans-diary for about a month or two and I was just miserable. Not being able to vent to a stack of paper or share memorable moments that I want to remember forever just sucked. Because of this little annoyance, I went to Chapters (the Canadian Barnes and Noble equivalent) to get myself a beautiful, brand new diary. I couldn't find the perfect one, so I just decided to use an ugly Hilroy notebook filled with my favourite kind of paper and I've just been so happy.
I know that it's kind of weird to be so freaking happy about a notebook, but I've been able to write a lot more, plan for my blog, and all that, which has just been so amazing. Maybe you're not someone who really likes to journal their life, but you should try it at least once, I think. I just want to be able to look back on my life and read how things were back then. I don't know, I'm just weird like that, I guess.
How is it already September?
If you haven't already noticed, today is the first of September. WHAT?! I'm pretty sure I say this quite often, but it's crazy how quickly the year has gone by. I swear, it was just yesterday I was making my New Year's resolutions.
Since it's September, that means that I only have a few days left of freedom and summer, which makes me kind of sad because it means that I'm starting the new chapter of my life called high school, and I won't be seeing my best friends from middle school that often anymore. At the same time, I'm also pretty darn excited for this crazy adventure to start. Wish me luck?
How has your week been? What are your thoughts on the infamous white t-shirt. Essential or not? Do you keep a journal/diary? And can you believe that it's already September? Crazy, isn't it?
Thanks for reading!

I have to agree with you that when a YouTuber has a soothing voice, it makes their videos so much more enjoyable to watch!
ReplyDeleteI've also recently gotten back into writing in a journal and I can definitely understand where you're coming from with the happiness from a notebook. Stationary is my thing, and I love it!
I can't believe we're going to be high school freshman in two days - where has the time gone?! I can't quite believe it's September today either. Good luck on your first day, lovely! x
I love finding people who agree with me about stuff like that. It's the best, hehe.
DeleteI can't believe that we're going to be freshmen (or is it still freshman?) tomorrow. It's CRAZY. Good luck to you, Bohmyi! I hope that we'll keep in touch. :) We HAVE to.

The kind of stuff that's so weird but then it turns out that other people do it too? That's the best.
DeleteFreshmen tomorrow. Whoa. That's huge. That's... awfully terrifying. I'm really, really scared, haha. Thank you for the wishes! We will keep in touch. After all, we've got this lovely blogging thing going on for us, haha. And the fact that I still have like eight of your books. No big deal. ;) x
It's huge. It's kind of scary. I'm not that terrified, to be honest. Like, I don't even know why. I'm just like whatever about it, which is weird. Anyway, I guess we're just growing up and it's bittersweet.
DeleteIt's fabulous how we have this whole blogging thing. :) It's quite the bonding experience.
And about those books... When are you gonna give them back? ;)

Good luck! White shirts are definitely an essential! They match everything and that way you can make your shoes or your pants/skirts the pop of the outfit.

Thanks Zoe! White shirts are just awesome because they go well with literally everything, like you said. I first fell in love with the idea of having one when I got my beloved flowy pants and have been obsessed with white shirts ever since.
