Hi there! Today, I'm going to talk to you about my personal style.
First off, I know that I've used this photo before on this blog, but please forgive me - it was simply the perfect photo to describe my personal style.
One of my very first posts back in March - which wasn't that long ago now that I think about it - was about how important it was to have a personal style because that's what makes you unique from the next girl.
If you've seen my Outfit of the Day posts or are one of my close friends (you know who you are), you might not think I'm describing my personal style accurately, but this is just the way I see it and it might be different from how you see it.
Anyway, I don't think that I was really able to define my personal style until I started this blog. I've been reading fashion blogs for forever and have always wanted to start one, but I'm really glad that I didn't until now. It wouldn't be very good if I was talking about fashion and what not, yet was so confused about my own style.
For the longest time, I wanted my personal style to be girly and classic, but lately, I've finally accepted that that's not my personal style, at least not all of it. I naturally gravitate towards edgier pieces like studs, skulls, ripped denim, oversized tees... all that stuff, so that edginess has definitely become a part of me. You might think that that sounds really dramatic, but when you think about it, what you wear everyday is how you present yourself to the world everyday - is that not a part of you?
After being lost for the longest time, I was finally able to define my personal style as somewhat girly, but with a hint of edginess. There are days when I practically want to look like a princess and there are days when I'm willing to channel my inner punk. I love sparkly ball gowns à la Taylor Swift, but I'm also a huge fan of spikes and studs. For me, my style is all about balance. If something's bordering on the line of being obnoxiously girly, I'll throw on something to tame it down a bit, like a leather jacket. That's my style philosophy.
Now here is an outfit that I would describe as perfectly me that I would wear to school.
