Today, I'm going to introduce to you a column (you could say) called "Rambles" where I basically ramble to some extent about what's going on in my life; my thoughts. It's the blog equivalent of a vlog when YouTubers update you on their life. These posts are so you guys can get to know me a little bit better. Whenever I'm reading a new blog or whatnot, I love that personal connection between the blogger and their readers, so I'm hoping to establish that with you guys.
Anyway, on to the ramble.
Anyway, on to the ramble.
If you haven't already noticed, it's June 1st today. JUNE. FIRST. It's mindblowing how quickly this year has gone by. I swear, it feels like it was just last week I was making my New Year's Resolutions and now, it's June.
I've always associated June with a few distinct things: summer, the end of the school year and being near to freedom. Normally, I'd be so stoked that it's already June, but this year, since I'm graduating from middle school (sounds kind of lame, but whatever), June's going to be a really bittersweet month. Ever since kindergarten, I've been jumping around from school to school every two years. (Just so we're clear, I wasn't a bad student that got kicked out of multiple schools, it just got really crowded.) This is the first time I felt like I belonged at my school.

In Canada, middle school is only for 7th and 8th grade and I've been at my middle school for two years. Well, almost two years, which is pretty crazy now that I'm thinking about it. I have such an amazing group of friends and everyone is just so... nice to me. Sure, they make fun of me constantly, but it's a part of their charm, I guess and I love them nonetheless.
All in all, I'm just going to miss them so much. I've never felt more included and loved (I don't mean to be cheesy, but whatever) and just happy at a school before, which makes me so, so happy. I'll save all this babble about high school and friends and such for my graduation post, so I guess I'll stop rambling about that now.
I think that we should all take today as a little reminder that half of the year is already over. Obviously. All those New Year's Resolutions you might've made, if you haven't acted upon them, do them now. Better late then never. To conclude today's ramble, I have a little challenge for you all.
If you haven't already made New Year's resolutions, go make some! However, if you already have, look at those resolutions and pick the one that's most important to you. From now until the end of the year, work your hardest to reach that goal that you have. The most satisfying feeling for me is when I've accomplished something; reached (or exceeded) my goals and I want you to feel that satisfaction as well! If you think that you can do more than just one, go for it! I just prefer to start small and go from there.
Let me know in the comments if you're going to take this challenge and what some of your New Year's resolutions are - I'd love to know!
Thank you so much for reading! Have a great Saturday!

Hey JubJub! Bet you can't guess who I am. Anyway, I'd just like to say that your blog is amazing and I am so jealous because, no matter how hard I try, I can never keep up with a blog like you do, so I just wanted to say congratulations for getting into June! I was out of school since May 24th, and I know that you still have a month-ish of school left, so hang in there! As for my New Year's resolution, I had a list on my phone that I conveniently deleted. xD I think the biggest resolution on that list was to be more responsible and not be extremely lazy, 'cuz you know how lazy I can get. ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha thank you for your lovely comment, Gumdrop. :) I really hope that it's you or else this would be super duper awkward. Anyway, good luck with your resolution - I hope that you reach your goal of not being "lazy" anymore. :)

Oh, it most certainly is Gumdrop! Who else knows of the nickname I/we gave you/ourselves? Just know that I shall be stalking your blog from this moment on, so prepare yourself! :D
ReplyDeleteA few of my friends do, but I doubt they'd remember. And I'm glad that you'll be stalking my blog. :) That sounded kind of weird, but whatever... :P By the way, I wrote you a post back in March, if you want to check it out. :)
