DIY: Laugh Wire Bracelet

Hi there! I haven’t done many DIYs lately, so I wanted to do a throwback to my first DIYs that I did with plain ole wire at my desk.

I made this bangle for a good friend of mine for Christmas last year. I offered to make her something and she requested the word “laugh” which I thought was just absolutely adorable. I think it’s a really nice to have a reminder on your arm everyday to laugh and not take everything too seriously.

It’s a really easy DIY, so let’s get into it!

What You’ll Need

  • 20 gauge wire in your choice of colour
  • pliers
  • wire cutters

Cut about 8 inches of wire, or a little less than how much you’d need to go around your whole wrist. It’s always better to cut a little extra just in case you mess up, especially at the beginning because you can just cut it off.

Start making loops to form your letters. To form a nice loop that don’t look sharp, try to bend the wire in different places. Instead of “folding” the wire over to form the loop, gentle guide it by making small bends in multiple places. Hopefully that didn’t sound like a jumbled mess.

Continue forming your loops until you’ve finished the word.

Cut off the excess wire and curve the wire inwards to make small loops.

Measure out how much wire you’ll need for the actual bracelet and cut it off.

Make a small curve and stick it through the loop you made with the “h.”

Stick the other end of the wire/bracelet in the loop you made with the “l.” Cut off the excess.

Make a slight curve as a hook to be able to take your bracelet on and off.

And there you go! The bracelet’s all done!
