Hi there! We’ve all had those moments when we’re staring at the abundance of clothes in our closets and think that despite all the clothes that surround you, you have absolutely nothing to wear. It’s a struggle for us all, so I decided that today, I’d share with you my top tips for getting rid of that nasty bug before it can evolve into something worse and make you late for wherever you’re going or something as equally awful.

Sunday Funday: July 27/14

Hi there! Gosh, it’s been almost a week, I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to update. Despite having survived exams/summative week twice now, I’d probably say that my busiest week so far in terms of school has probably been this past week with the end of summer school. When the material taught in two joint courses (Civics and Careers) are condensed into 15 days, it can get a bit much.

After working my butt off for those three weeks and enjoying the luxury of seeing my closest friends every one of those days, I’m done and free and I couldn’t be more excited to get my summer going. That means that my little nook here of the internet won’t get sadly neglected and set aside whenever important school deadlines arise and posts will become more regular. I think that calls for a “YAY,” right?

Right.

Anyway, my exam was on Thursday morning and after I finished with that, my mom drove me to IKEA and I got to spend a nice couple hours in there just wandering around and picking up some things for my room. I just got a couple small items that will help me stay more organised and help keep my room more clean because I really, really need to work on that.

Current Love: That Effortless Look

Hi there! With summer comes heat and with heat comes that feeling of just not wanting to wear too much clothing at all. And no, I don't mean that in a racy manner in the slightest. I just meant that in the hot summer months, the last thing I know I'd want to do is add on layer upon layer of clothing that's going to make me feel as if the humidity was suffocating me.

During the colder months, I'm a huge fan of adding that extra layer or that extra scarf, belt, whatever it may be to complete my outfit, but sometimes, the weather just doesn't allow for it. Which is why I've grown fond of that "effortless" look lately. You know the one the one where the girl who's wearing the ensemble looks like she just threw on that dress and that necklace and it's so well put-together, not too predictable, and looks like it took her hours to come up with that perfect combination, but at the same time, it looked as if it was put together on a whim?

That look.

However, this is not to be confused with sloppy. It's just a really nice outfit that looks beautifully put-together and, well, effortless.

Sunday Funday: July 20/14

Hi there! How are we already nearly done with July? I guess deciding to take summer school has really cut down my summer quite a bit, but I don’t regret it.

I just really can’t believe that there are only eleven days of July left. Eleven! That’s crazy to me.

From another teenager’s point of view who hasn’t been stuck in summer school for the past two weeks or so, I probably haven’t done very much with my summer, but I am more than ready to get some stuff done this summer! From my summer to-do list, you can probably tell that I have quite a lot to accomplish, so let’s hope that that’s going to happen in the 43 days of summer that I have left.

Speaking of summer school, I’m going to be done with that this week and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s not like it was hard or anything, just really, really tiring for some reason because by the time I get home (which is like 5), I have no motivation to get anything done. On a regular school day, I’m done at the gym at 5, so I would have some adrenaline pumping through me to get school work done and all that. But enough of me complaining – that’s not what you’re here to read.

Summer To-Do: Taking More Photos and What to Do With Them

Hi there! I know that for most of you, you’re knee-deep in summer already, but I’ve been at summer school for the past two weeks, so it hasn’t really hit me that it’s summer yet. However, there’s been one thing that I’ve been doing recently that has made it feel more like the time of the year best known for a teenager’s acts of abandon - taking pictures.

For as long as I could remember, I was the girl who would flinch and cover her face whenever someone brought out a camera or took their phone out to take a selfie while simultaneously dragging me into the frame with them. I was the girl who didn’t really understand why her friends or family would waste time taking photos of food before eating it even if it wasn’t that special to begin with. I was the girl who had less than 200 photos on her phone instead of the 1000+ her friends had.

In short, I didn’t really take pictures unless I had a really stunning view of the sky or some exotic dish.

Haul: New York City/Atlantic City 2014

Hi there! When I went to NYC and Atlantic City a few weeks ago, my family and I went on a crazy, crazy shopping spree. Honestly, I barely bought anything at all in New York as our schedules were so packed during the three days we were there, we didn't have any spare time to squeeze in some shopping time. We did, however, shop quite a bit in Atlantic City, which is big understatement. Keep reading to see what I got in both cities!

Sunday Funday: July 13/14

Hi there! I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a pretty good week. I thought that summer school would feel really long and tiring, but it surprisingly went by really, really fast. Like I can’t quite believe that it’s already the weekend, even if today is its last day. I don’t know if I’m really happy I got the break or not because at this point, I almost just want to go to summer school everyday so I can get it done and over with.

But that’s probably just me.

The days are pretty tiring, and I guess it’s because I don’t get home until about 5 and have to be in school, like learning an extra hour per day, but I’m comforted by the fact that it’ll all be worth it in the end. Besides, I get to see my best friends everyday even if they aren’t in the same class as me and that hadn’t happened all year, so it really is worth it. While I’m incredibly happy at my high school right now, but I can’t help but miss the old people, you know? The past week and a bit has been really great for that and I’m really glad.

Style Diary: A Run For It

Hi there! After a tiring week (that felt surprisingly short) with days spent at a desk in summer school, I'm back with another Style Diary! I really want to incorporate more posts where you get a glimpse at what I personally wear and how I style things, so I'm hoping that you'll be seeing a lot more of me in the future.

I'm going to be completely honest - this outfit was rather hard to put together. Because I'd just gotten back from vacation and bought quite a bit, I have a nice haul to show you guys, but I haven't done that yet (that's for Monday!), so I didn't want to have anything that I didn't previously own pre-vacation in the outfit. In the end, I caved (I know, shame on me) and centered the outfit around a pair of white sneakers from Adidas with a splash of neon on the sole.

3 Ways to Wear: The Classic Summer Dress

Hi there! We all have that "summer dress." You know, the one that's just effortless and comfortable and is just easy to throw on? Yeah, that's the one I'm talking about. Since I wear mine so often, I figured that I wasn't the only one, so I came up with three ways to style it differently from super casual but with a twist to formal with the same H&M dress. Keep reading to see the looks!

3 Things to Learn from my Fashion Mistakes

Hi there! I’m sure that you’ve all made fashion mistakes, from the cringe-worthy ones when you were just starting out to that ill-fitting piece last week. Maybe, you’re skilled enough to not have made such mistakes recently, but even the most experienced fashion veterans slip up every once in a while.

I, like all of you, have made some pretty dreadful fashion blunders over the years and like all the mistakes we make, we always learn something from them. Keep reading for three mistakes that I’ve made and three lessons to make sure you don’t repeat any of my blunders!

Sunday Funday: July 6/14

Hi there! This past week, I’ve been slowly adjusting to life without New York and just not being on vacation anymore. I know it sounds kind of silly, but despite only spending less than a week away from home and only a few days in the city, I miss it.

And I want to go back ASAP.

Anyway, that aside, I had a few days at the beginning of the week until I’d have to start summer school on the Thursday. On Monday, I went out and finally bought “x” by Ed Sheeran. Yes, I know, I’m a terrible Ed fan if I’m a week late, but sometimes, being on vacation, albeit NYC (believe me, I hunted it down, but it just didn’t want to be found) prevents you from being a crazy fan and getting your hands on a newly released album as soon as it comes out.

For me, when it comes to artists that I really, really like, so basically Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran, I don’t want to do anything online – I want the “real” experience of going out and buying the hard copy of the album and getting all excited about being able to touch it as opposed to buying it on iTunes or pre-ordering it, or something like that. I know, I’m weird.

What I Did In: New York City and Atlantic City

Hi there! As promised, here is the post about everything that I did while I was away on my trip roughly two weeks ago. We left on a Sunday and got back on the Saturday afterwards. It was a crazy, jam-packed couple of days, but it was so much fun. I don't remember having that much fun on a vacation and feeling like I'd learned so much in a really long time.

Anyway, enough of me rambling - let's get started. Just a warning though, this is going to be a long one.

July's Big Five

Hi there! Remember how I asked you last month about what to call this column? Well, there were four options… and you suggested three different ones, so after debating for a while, I finally settled on this one. But thank you for your suggestions – they did end up taking out that one option no one liked, aha.

I feel like this month is the month when my summer’s going to start. Because school ended for me about mid-to-late June and I was away on a trip until recently, it didn’t properly feel like summer until now. Besides, I’ve always associated July and August with summer, but I know that in the States and basically everywhere else, things are a bit different.

As the title suggests, I have for you five big things for you and I both to get excited for this month. So let’s get into it!
