7 Most Inspiring Gowns from Spring Couture

Hi there! In last week's Sunday Funday, I talked a bit about how a few simple (okay not actually because it's couture, but you get the idea) dresses just got me back into the swing of things and got me inspired again. Keep reading for a few of my favourites!

Prom Style Guide 2014: Inspiration

Tumblr
Image via We Heart It
Hi there! Prom season is here and if you're going, you've probably started dress hunting. If I've missed your prom, I apologise and I'm going to try my best to get this post up earlier next year. There will be two or three of these, I haven't quite decided yet (tell me in the comments what you'd like!) and the first one, as you could probably deduce from the title, is about inspiration and will pretty much be photo-heavy. Next week, I'll have a post with prom outfits that I've put together under $250. For the 3rd post (if you guys want it), I could either do a bigger budget or a smaller one, and anything else you might request.

Anyway, enough of my rambling. Let's take a look at some pretty photos!

How to: Overcome Human's Block and Get Inspired

I do believe in magic | via Tumblr

Hi there! Today, I wanted to inspire you guys. Well, technically, I wanted to help you get your creative juices flowing when you're wracking your brain for some inspiration for whatever you're doing. So I wanted to inspire you guys to get inspired. Yeah, I think that's about right.

When I’m just feeling very blah, I like to call that human’s block. Not writer’s block, not artist’s block, not blogger’s block – human’s block. I mean, people who aren’t writers, artists, bloggers, etc. can feel that way about anything in general, right?
I don’t know about you, but I absolutely hate feeling unproductive and procrastinating. It’s like that feeling I get when I eat something too greasy – I just feel icky. Awful. Whichever, take your pick. Whenever I realise that I’m having one of those days, the rest of my day could either be spent doing absolutely nothing productive, or browsing a few websites to just get my energy back. Here are a few of them for some of your dilemmas. Enjoy!

Ramble: Go Chase Your Dreams

Tumblr_mgwt5kffi31qg4939o1_500_large

Hi there!  This is going to be a little different from my regular posts, but I hope that you'll enjoy it anyway.

It was about this time last year when I sent my friend - who was vacationing across the pond at the time - a direct message on Twitter, saying that we needed to talk.  All that year, we spoke non-stop about our plans to apply to a high school that offered a certain program and how we'd both try to get in and spend our high school years together.  That school that wanted to get in so desperately was very academically rigorous, which was a challenge that I was really excited to tackle, but there was this other school that offered this amazing arts program, which is another thing that I really love.

I've always thought that I'd become a doctor or something when I got older, specifically a neurologist or a neurosurgeon because I found all that stuff really cool.  But after spending a summer alone (all of my friends were on vacation somewhere), I got to know myself a lot better.  That might've sounded a bit weird, but it's true -  I got a lot of self-discovery done.

Never forget first love

Hi there!  Today, I'm going to write about something a little different from my usual fashion posts and I might ramble a little bit, but I hope that you don't mind!

Sunday Funday: Busy, Busy Me

Large

Hi there!  I'm back with yet another Sunday Funday, so let's get on with it.

My week can be summed up in one word: hectic.  Unfortunately, it wasn't one of those hectic weeks that I actually enjoyed when I was busy 24/7, got tons of things done, and actually enjoyed every minute of it.  It was one of those weeks when I felt like I wanted to just go to sleep for a long time (and wake up obviously, but you know).

Like one of my favourite YouTube beauty gurus said, "Though everyday may not be good, there is something good in everyday."  Keep reading to find out the good things from my semi-bleh week.  If you're interested, of course.

Ramble: Where Is This Year Going?!

Large

Today, I'm going to introduce to you a column (you could say) called "Rambles" where I basically ramble to some extent about what's going on in my life; my thoughts.  It's the blog equivalent of a vlog when YouTubers update you on their life.  These posts are so you guys can get to know me a little bit better.  Whenever I'm reading a new blog or whatnot, I love that personal connection between the blogger and their readers, so I'm hoping to establish that with you guys.

Anyway, on to the ramble.

This is going to be my last May Motivation and it's going to be like a follow-up of my previous May Motivation about my tips on how to reorganise your desk and just some ideas.  Today, I'm going to be sharing my tips on how to reorganise and turn your bookshelf into something more than just a space to store your books.  If you're interested or are just looking for some eye candy, keep on reading!

May Motivation: Reorganise Your Workspace!

Workspace Inspiration

The inspiration for this post came along when I was just looking around on Pinterest and was being completely unproductive - or so I thought - when I stumbled upon this...

At the time, my bedroom was a complete disaster, particularly my desk.  I was completely overwhelmed with a million school and personal projects that I developed this terrible mantra: It's going to get messy again after I do _______.  There's no point in attempting to clean my room.  It got so bad that it  was nearly impossible for me to find a clear path from the door to my bed.  It was pretty darn terrible.

After weeks (cringe-worthy, I know) of living in that mess, I finally found the motivation to clean up.  My personal motivation was simply from scrolling around on Pinterest and finding pretty pictures of organised spaces.  Here are a few of my favourite workspaces intertwined with some tips to (hopefully) inspire you to get yourself organised.  Enjoy!

Sunday Funday: TV and Cranberries

Large

I'm back with yet another Sunday Funday.  It's been a pretty hectic week, and the sad part is, next week is probably going to be even crazier.  Despite the madness, I've found some time to take my mind off everything, well, almost everything that is bothering me and just relax.

May Motivation #1: Get Going

Today, I'm going to do something a little different.  I was going to write yet another spring inspiration post, but I honestly just didn't feel up to it.  Don't get me wrong, I wanted to blog, just not at all about that, at least not at the very moment.  If you still want to see the weekly spring outfit inspiration post, I'll definitely write it (let me know in the comments/the poll, please and thank you).

Since it's the beginning of May, where I live, it's really starting to feel like summer.  To me, summer and a new year are both times for self-discovery and re-invention - clean slates that I'm so glad to have.  Everything in between is just, well, everything in between.  So I was just looking around online when I saw a few... "inspirational" quotes.  Here is one of them:

"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." - Walt Disney

It really made me think about all the things I always say I'm going to do like homework, a new project - whatever it may be - but never end up actually doing.  Constantly procrastinating and just not being productive seems to occur a lot in my life, which sucks.  I hate that feeling, so much that it's on my top ten list of things I hate the most. (Yes, I have such a list.)

Every time I read a quote like this, it really gives me that extra push that I always need to get going, to get started.  It makes me just want to get up from sitting, staring at my computer screen for too long and get something done, to make my day worth it.  Quotes like these are truly inspiring to me, for lack of a better word.

I hope this gave you that little extra push to get going on whatever you want to get done for the day.  Make to-do lists, write it down, plan your time, and use it wisely because you might not have tomorrow.  Which is kind of a depressing thought, but you know what I mean.

Hopefully, you didn't mind the change from my usual fashion posts.  I'll probably throw one of these posts into the mix every now and then.  And just one last thought to leave with you: you can do anything you set your mind to.  I'd love it if you left me a comment letting me know what you want to get done this month.

Thanks for reading!

New Year's Resolutions - March Check-Up

new year's resolutions

I'm the kind of person who loves making lists of things whether it's to-do lists, shopping lists and what not.  I just love lists.  So before I rang in the New Year, I made a list of resolutions.  These usually never get me anywhere, but after nearly three months, I think that it's a good time to check on these resolutions so some of them might actually happen by the end of the year.
