Time to Bring out the Pencils Again

Influences - ‘Oh Comely’ magazine. I think it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever come across.

Hi there! It feels like it's been a really long time since I've been able to just sit down and be really, really creative. Sure, I've been making cards a lot these past few months (or did I not mention that before? Oops) and have painted a few things here and there, the biggest thing being a painting for a friend, but I haven't just been able to get into it like before. It's not that I don't enjoy doing it anymore, but because I've been so freaking busy and haven't had the time to do anything of a sort unless I absolutely had to.

Now that my first semester of high school is over and the next one is starting up, I have to start getting into it again because I'll have art class every single day. Half of me is so excited about diving into it all again, but the other half finds the idea kind of daunting. I don't know, I guess I'm just kind of a wimp, aha.

Today, I decided to start drawing again and it just makes me feel so good. Like, when you just get to go all out with your passion, I think that's just the best. You just get this feeling of incredible fulfillment and it just makes me so happy to draw again, it's insane.

Well, I guess the more accurate term for what I did is "design." I've been keeping a list of design ideas on my phone and on my nightstand for the past three months or so and I keep telling myself that when I have time (which is like never), I'll sit down and draw them so I won't forget. Well, I kind of already forgot them (oops) and the words just don't make sense to me anymore, so that's kind of a problem. Just a bit.

That's why, when I saw the Chanel sneakers from the couture show that everyone has been talking about and was inspired to draw myself the pair of sneakers from my wildest dreams.

I really need to find a better way to take sketchbook photos, aha.
Okay, just so you know, I get really lazy sometimes (a lot of times) to actually colour my designs, hence the pencil drawings. Sorry, guys, that's just how I roll.

What I envisioned is a suede time of wedge sneaker with quilted suede or leather (haven't decided yet) details on the toe, the heel, and the straps in a either a white or ivory colour with some black/navy and grey accents. For the heel, I wanted to go for a crystal clear wedge with a cool tread detail on the sole. I wish there was something that could bring the ideas I draw in my sketchbooks to life.

I hope that you enjoyed this little post. Definitely more personal and different compared to some of my other posts and it's something I'd love to do some more here if you guys enjoy it and definitely some more Sketchbook posts, for sure. If you do enjoy these, do let me know!

Thank you so much for reading!
