3 Ways to Wear: Oxford Shirts

shut the fuck up

Hi there!  Last week, I wrote a post all about my love for oxford shirts (they're kind of my current obsession.)  Like any "Current Love" post, here is the styling post that always follows!  If you'd like some outfit ideas on how to style oxford shirts, keep on reading!

3 Ways to Wear Oxford Shirts #3

For this outfit, I played up the classic vibe of the top, but made it more casual by tucking it in to a pair distressed denim shorts and adding a brown leather belt.  I would wear my hair in waves and pull the front strands of my hair back, kind of like this.  The red lip and velvet clutch (worn by the chain on your shoulder for this outfit) makes the outfit a bit more glamorous.

Pairing at oxford shirt with denim shorts instantly makes you look really put together and "smart" for lack of a better word.  It's also such a quick outfit, which is always a plus.

3 Ways to Wear Oxford Shirts #2

This is a dressier outfit option as you could probably tell from the bedazzled skirt.  I paired the oxford shirt with a textured skirt and cinched it in at the waist with a wide belt.  Nude heels add a bit of subtle height and because they're such a neutral colour, they don't take the attention away from the skirt.  You could easily dress up an oxford shirt by pairing it with the dressier and more glamorous pieces in your closet.

If you've been following my blog for a while, you would know that I always love my outfits to have balance.  If something's too girly, I'll add a leather jacket or something to toughen it up.  In this case, because the oxford shirt is pretty preppy and classic, I wanted to throw something really trendy into the mix to make it a bit more casual and different.

With the oxford shirt unbuttoned, I paired it with a simple white graphic tank, patterned pants, and an amazing pair of wedge sneakers.  At first, I absolutely hated this trend, but now I've grown to really, really love them.  A lot.

  2. My favorite is the first one! I don't like to think of myself as a really 'classic' dresser, but typically when I wear them I like to go for a bow tie, skinny jeans, and printed loafers. Something about oxford shirts just sparks the classic vibes within me.
