DIY Wire Ring: Heart

Hi there!  Today, I wanted to show you guys how to make this delicate wire heart ring!  It's a really sweet and simple ring that will pretty much go with everything in your wardrobe.  If you want to learn how to make it, keep on reading!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Pliers
  • Wire cutters
  • 20 gauge wire
  • A marker

The first thing you're going to want to do is cut about one inch of wire.  If you're new to dealing with wire, cut a bit more just in case you mess up.

Then, make a dent in the middle of it.

Using your pliers or your fingernail, start to curve one end of the wire towards the middle to form half a heart.  Repeat it on the other side.

If both sides are uneven, try fiddling with the wire with your fingers (especially your handy dandy fingernail) or your pliers.  You might want to use round-nose pliers for this, but for me, regular ole pliers work fine.  Trim any excess wire after you're happy with your result.

You could also redo the heart to get it just right.  Once you're done, put it aside.

Cut about two inches of wire for the band of the ring.

Wrap it around the marker.

Try it on your finger to see how it fits.  Adjust it to fit better if necessary.

Open the two ends of the wire a bit and slip the heart onto the wire.  Trip the end of the wire and clamp it down to secure the heart onto the wire.

Repeat the same step on the other side.

And there you have it!  Your heart wire ring is complete!
